LINK LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE is studio based firm rooted in the belief that landscape design can physically and philosophically connect the built environment and natural world.  Founded in 2006 by Matson Walter, LINK is a full service landscape architecture practice based in Long Beach taking on a diverse range of projects incorporating urban design, site planning, site grading, recreational sport design, streetscapes, storm water management, landscape assessment, comprehensive planting plans and sustainable landscape design.

Our goal is to create spaces that maximize people’s interaction with nature and each other, while minimizing the impact on the environment.  We do this by analyzing people’s movement through a space, linking spaces, defining spaces, and creating spaces to be inhabited.  The Southern California climate provides us ideal conditions to create meaningful spaces with a diverse native and low water consuming plant palette that can be enjoyed all year round.  Our knowledge and experience with local plant materials allows us to design sustainable and maintainable landscapes that will endure time.

Our process is based on communication and collaboration.  Every project is site specific with its own unique set of opportunities and experiences.  We hold the belief that a project will only reach its full potential through the collaboration between owners, users, and designers.
